death of any Auxiliary Sister and I would be glad to post it on this

Hello Sisters,
I have several
items to share with you tonight from Dept. President Robin.
The first is an
alert regarding Cora Honts, Department Soloist. She was in the
hospital last week for pneumonia and had apparently also had a
fall. She believes she should be home by now, and I'm sure she would
appreciate cards from us at her home address: 3507 Julep Drive,
Colonial Heights, VA 23834
An update on PDP
Glendon Webb. She attended her first meeting since her surgery and
is doing so much better.
(4974 Danville Pike,
Hillsville, VA 24343 )
An update on PDP
Darlene Mays-Tittman - she is home from her surgery and doing really
well. (329 Thalia Drive, Newport News, VA 23608)
Also, I received
this email today from District 1 President Irene Peter's daughter
regarding her surgery:
Ellen,
Mom went for her follow up visit with her surgeon this morning and
he was not happy with how her bones were healing after surgery due
to the fact that they were weak from osteoporosis. She was not
having any relief from the numbness/pain in her hands/arms even
after the first surgery. He felt he needed to go back in right
away, this time from the back, and put in more screws/hardware to
help align the spine. They finally took her down for surgery at 4
this afternoon and I just spoke with the surgeon, he said she did as
well as could be expected, and that only time will tell now. She
will be in the neck collar for quite a while. She is in St.Mary's
Hospital in Richmond for a day or two then will be going home, she
had hoped to be at Winter Council this weekend in Williamsburg but I
don't think that is going to happen now. She wanted me to convey
her thanks to everyone that had sent cards, they really cheered her
up.
Please continue to pray for her and a full recovery.
Thanks,
Cheri Sizemore

Sisters,
Ida McCracken's
birthday is 1/21 and she is still in Woodmont Center, so wouldn't it
be great if we could send her a bunch of birthday cards to help
cheer her up?! Please send to her home at: 6700 Suttles Court,
Fredericksburg, VA 22407. We need to keep George in our thoughts
and prayers as well as he goes through this difficult time with
Ida's illness.
Thanks for all the wonderful things you do Sisters.

Sisters,
Laura Absher,
Department Patriotic Instructor and Americanism Chairman, was taken
to the hospital Sunday night with a feeling like someone was sitting
on her chest and very high blood pressure. They admitted her for
heart catheterization surgery. However, when they performed the
surgery (going in through her right wrist), they found
absolutely everything was clear and had no explanation for that
fact. Laura (and I agree) believes it was the power of prayers that
made the difference.
She is home now and taking medication for the blood pressure and
trying not to use the right hand at all. She cannot return to work
until next Tuesday.
Cards may be sent to her at home at:
9241 Swannanoa Trail, Mechanicsville, VA 23116
or, via e-mail to
lcabsher@verizon.net (per Laura, who is trying to save us the
postage!)
Thank you, sisters.

Sisters,
It is obvious that Harriet is a wonderful volunteer for her
auxiliary. Since it looks like she is going to have a lengthy
recovery, I am sure your prayers and cards would be appreciated. See

Ellen,
Our National Home Chairman Harriet
Trausneck and also our Commanders mother had fallen and broke her
hip. The surgery went well as they had to put 3 pins in her hip and
has a long road to recovery. At this time she is still at the
hospital in Kingsport, TN and hope to be transported back home soon.
I know Harriet would greatly appreciate any cards to be sent to her
home as well as everyone's prayers for a speedy recovery.

Sisters,
I spoke with
Darlene yesterday. The surgery on her knees went well and she has
graduated from the walker to a cane(s?) She had quite a bit of pain
in one knee yesterday for the first time and had to scale back her
physical therapy (her words were "physical torture", I believe) but
is doing remarkably well considering she had surgery on both knees.
She hopes to be home by next Thursday night, so you can continue to
send cards to her home. Dee is still bringing them to her at the
rehab hospital right now.

the neck, so she may be unable to talk for a while. Recovery is
expected to be at least 8 weeks, however, she hopes to be at Winter
Council the end of this month.
Cards can be sent to:
