Ladies Auxiliary VFW 2011-2012 Department of Virginia
DEPARTMENT PRESIDENT ROBIN MILEWSKI WITH NATIONAL PRESIDENT GWEN RANKIN
Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world – Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead
This coming year is about change and progress. From VFW Ladies Auxiliary National to the local Auxiliaries, we are moving into the future.
On the National level, we are consolidating and updating our programs, going green, cutting expenses and adding a much need spark of enthusiasm. On the Department level, we are improving our information networks, encouraging participation on all levels and spreading the joy of assisting our veterans, their families and our community.
There have been many changes in regards to our National Programs, with the most significant being the elimination of the Community Service Program. It is important that everyone read through this handbook. Pay particular attention to the Department Chairmen’s write-ups, use the appropriate forms for reporting and heed the deadlines.
National President Gwen Rankin is challenging every one of us to “STEP UP, LEAVE NO VETERAN BEHIND”. I am challenging you to “hold each other accountable to do the work of this organization – do it KINDLY and with COMPASSION”. No one belongs to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary very long without a caring heart.
The VFW Ladies Auxiliary is a place of peace, where we can work for a common cause and where veterans and their families can come for comfort. We show our veterans “THE ONES THEY LEFT BEHIND – ARE STILL BEHIND THEM”.
Today is the day that I am going to be the person I want to be and be thankful! I look forward to working with each and every one of you, to make our VFW Ladies Auxiliary and great Department of Virginia a better place – where every day is Veteran’s Day.
Respectfully yours, Robin Milewski President, VFW LA Department of Virginia
